How many of us would be happy to sign the bottom of a blank check and just hand it over to someone who had a shopping "problem"? How about if we only had a small amount of money in the bank? That's what the Democrats want to do.
There is a pledge being passed around the "hallowed" halls of Congress that no further legislation will be signed without first being read. 62 Republicans have signed it and no Democrats. There's a surprise, huh?
Imagine if anyone had actually read the TARP trash or the "porkulus" garbage before signing it! No one with a brain, a conscience or the desire to be re-elected would have signed it.
When did our legislators become rubber stamps for thieves? Last November when we elected the biggest thief to ever sit in the Oval Office, that's when.

If legislators had to actually read legislation, they may start at least writing shorter ones. The Hill-Burton Act of 1946 (bipartisan) in 7 pages started a program to build county hospitals in every county of the United States.
ReplyDeleteThat was a real health care program.
Hi Howie! Back when legislators actually had to do something besides rubber stamp garbage, and were expected to be responsible for their actions we had a government. That is no longer the case, unfortunately.
