RINO's and CINO's

A RINO is a Republican In Name Only. A CINO is a Catholic In Name Only.

Republican philosophy requires fiscal responsibility, small government, a pro-life position, and strict adherence to the Constitution. There are other things, but those are at the top of the list. There are several people who like to call themselves Republicans without following the precepts of that philosophy. They should either be what they pretend to be or join the party that has none of those constraints upon their voting or behavior. Specter, Snow and Collins leap to mind...

What's even worse and more unconscionable are the CINO's. They attend Mass every Sunday and present themselves as being religious while defiling everything the Catholic Church stands for. That's not to denigrate other Christian churches and their pro-life positions. But the most famous of the CINO's are Catholics, the Kennedy family, John Kerry, Nasty Pelosi, and too many more to mention. They violate everything the Church (and Christianity in general) stand for while pretending to be people that they are clearly not.

I'm a big believer in standing on principle and the phonies make me sick. The very idea that any of the Kennedys or others previously mentioned can get away with their despicable hypocrisy is too wrong for words. They shouldn't be allowed inside a church, much less be able to use that church as a crutch to garner votes. We all have to answer for what we do, and those people will have a lot of answering to do to the Greatest Judge. The ACLU won't help them a bit.

  1. Hey S.L. I agree they have no morals, and stand for nothing.

  2. They only care about getting re-elected, Lester. They are nothing but greed, hiding in a bunch of empty suits.

  3. Hi SL,

I don't know that I agree that someone should agree with all Republican philosophy to call themselves a Republican. If I had to join a political party in Australia, there wouldn't be one where I'd agree with everything that it said. I'd have to join the party that most lined up with what I believed, while disagreeing with other bits.

I also try not to judge a person's relationship with God. Sometimes when we say we don't think a person is a Christian, it's because they don't fit our definition of what a Christian should look like. And I do think even people that have a good relationship with God can go off track and do things that God would not approve of.

However, I also think that using the church to gain votes is terrible. I like the fact that there are so many politicians today that are being open about their faith. But at the same time, it should never be used as a political tool - whether their faith is real or not.

And I agree that there definitely are a lot of people who are Catholics or Christians In Name Only. A lot of people call themselves Christians, without actually following Christ.

  4. Hi Liz!

No political party is perfect. But it's important to read their platforms and know what they stand for. I know too many people who just blindly vote one way or another while ignoring what the vote means. So many people who would never have voted for anything about B.O. (B.S.)just did so because he was a Democrat, or because he was black and they were told it was "historic."

Only God can see into the hearts of people, I know. But when they violate His Commandments and abuse others six days a week and show up at church on the seventh day, they're giving a bad name to all those who do believe and try to live right.
